Food was amazing. We ordered the classic eggs benedict, chorizo tacos and I wanted to taste their French toast so I just asked for a small order (1) French toast. All were delicious! Went on a Saturday at 1 and was seated promptly with no wait.

The Hideout- the place to be on a Friday night in Lafayette!!! This space was great as Petars.. then the Coop and now the Hideout! Enjoyed great martinis, attentive service, and a fun atmosphere. The kale and pancetta salad was HUMUNGOUS!!!! It could have feed four people!! Kale, shaved brussel sprouts, Parmesan cheese, crispy chick peas, and tons of pancetta!! Added shrimp- 6 perfectly grilled prawns! The chicken pot pie was also great! Another big portion full of chicken and veggies witha flakey crust (wish it was a bit crispier). What really sets this pot pie apart from others is the light buttery cream sauce- it has a hint of lemon which keeps the dish light and fresh! New fav date spot!

We've been wanting to try Hideout Kitchen for a date night for months, but coming over to Lafayette from Oakland during dinner time can be a traffic nightmare. But we decided to face the tunnel challenges during a weeknight and are we glad we finally got to experience Hideout's hospitality! Since we are still not keen to eat indoors at restaurants, we were especially excited that Hideout Kitchen has expansive outdoor seating options. We made reservations online using OpenTable and they seemed to be wide open for availability. On arrival we found the place hopping. We were seated quickly at a 2-top against the restaurant windows. We still take Covid precautions seriously because of a health issue, so with the enclosed roof and surrounding table density it felt like "outside but inside" if you know what I mean. But there was a high table bar seating against the open side of the patio facing the sidewalk, so we decided to sit side by side there since airflow was much better. We had a great server who explained specials and took our drink and starter order (a couple of Napa cabs and the Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta and the Papas Bravas with aioli). Service time was what we would expect for dinner rush, and we had servers deliver our waters, plates, and our stemware followed very soon by our wines served in small carafes. We then ordered our mains: 2 Grilled Ribeye Steaks with sautéed mushrooms and scalloped potatoes (hubby subbed sautéed spinach for potatoes). We also ordered the grilled Cauliflower "Steak" as it sounded great too. The starters were fantastic. My papas bravas were baby new potatoes, roasted not fried, and were delicious with the garlic and roasted pepper aioli. The shaved sprouts were halved, not shaved, but totally yummy nonetheless in their pancetta and Granny Smith Apple vinaigrette preparation. Good start to the meal. Our main courses were well timed and arrived just as our starters were cleared away. Two perfectly cooked ribeyes (one medium, one medium-rare) were tender, well marbled, and came with a compound butter on top. We also were served beautiful Laguiole steak knives with our plates. My steak didn't stand a chance, and was disappearing quickly. The sautéed mushrooms were garlicky and a perfect addition to the steaks. My scalloped potatoes were just ok. They either needed more cream, moisture, or more heating to melt the cream and cheese more. But still tasty. Hubby's sautéed spinach and cauliflower steak were on point. The cauliflower slices came with a garlic aioli that provided a great punch of flavor. We wished we had room for dessert as the Basque Burnt Cheesecake on the dessert menu was tempting. But something tells me we'll be back in the near future to experience The Hideout Kitchen again!

Today a group of 7 of us gathered for lunch to celebrate Sue's birthday. Since I was last at The Hideout Kitchen they have moved into the large space formerly occupied by The Cooperage. I have always liked that space. Today parking was very difficult, due to the setting up for the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival. So many spots were marked NO PARKING, including disabled parking spots. I was going to just park in one of the spaces but a very nice woman warned me that I could get towed, which would not be a good thing. I went into the lot across the street and, as luck would have it, someone pulled out of a disabled space and I took it. I walked over to the restaurant and found everyone already seated there. Don't know how they all did it. I looked over the menu and didn't see my favorite grilled cheese and tomato basil soup combination. Emilia was our server and she was sweet and helpful. She started across the table taking orders, giving me time to look over the menu. I didn't see what I wanted so when she got to me I asked about it and she pointed it out to me on the menu. It was called a panini so I overlooked it. Menu reading is not one of my strong suits. I ordered it, asking for no honey on the sandwich because I don't like that sweet note. I asked about iced tea and learned it was made in-house so I ordered it, along w/ sweetener. Kathy, who made the reservations, knew that they had moved. Chuck knew that they had opened a Filipino restaurant in the former location, but I'm not sure about the name. I'd like to know because I love Filipino food. I used to make a chicken-pork adobo that was better than what I've had in some restaurants. Our mains were served and everyone seemed to like what they had. I know I loved my sandwich and soup. I enjoyed the iced tea. My only suggestion is that it be served in a much larger glass. It's served in a very small glass w/ cocktail straws and I wasn't offered a refill. Next time I will ask that it be served in a tall water glass w/o a straw. I'd like to return and explore the menu further, although I do love what I had, which makes it hard for me to consider anything else. Maybe the honey fried chicken, depending on what the pieces are and how prominent the honey is in the flavor profile... We toasted Sue's birthday and Alan, w/o whom this group would never have assembled, since he had worked w/ most of them a couple of decades ago, or more. The bathrooms are all the way in the back of the restaurant on the right, separate ones for men and women. The women's room has two stalls, one wheelchair accessible and the other not. The bathroom was clean and functional, easy for me to find because I remember its location from The Cooperage. I will be back.

Amazing experience here! We went for brunch, not expecting it to be so busy, but we got a nice table outside. French Toast and Frittata were delicious and the service was top notch! Camila was very attentive, always checking up on us at the right time. Definitley coming back!

Lots of metered parking all around. Nice ambiance - very open and airy. Comfortable seating both inside and outside of restaurant. Placed order with our waiter. Can't wait to see what arrives from the kitchen Huge portions - delicious food Ordered a Morning Glory breakfast sandwich with fresh fruit, another family member had their version of savory chicken fried steak with waffles and gravy, another dish was bacon and eggs Benedict and two others orders the brioche French toast. Will return again to experience another meal. Service was spectacular, food was prepared just right: fresh and delicious, and ambiance was amazing: perfect spot to relax and enjoy time with family or friends!

Went last weekend for family dinner. It was PACKED but we were still seated at a communal table. Tried a variety of dishes and all was hit and service was great. We were inside so it was a bit loud but overall nice place. I think we'll try doing a reservation next time. Worth a try but I would recommend a reservation for an optimal visit.

This is my second visit this place. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and came back often to see if we need refills on water, soda, and coffee. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside. It was actually a little quieter than inside (we sat inside the last time) as the music can be a bit loud to carry on a conversation. My steak salad was excellent and I would definitely reorder that.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE Starting off, our server Issa is incredibly friendly and charismatic. Thank you so much for your recommendations and for being patient and helpful. I had the rack of lamb which was perfect, so flavorful and delicious. My friends got the salmon and the steak, both cooked to perfection, the salmon was so soft and melted in your mouth. The steak was so filling and delicious. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful and it feels great to dine here. Absolutely coming back again.

Been over 20 years since k have stepped foot in this place when it was a hangout for the College - and Yacht rock crowd and you could watch Diamond Dave rocking his piano. Now a great place to grab brunch - we headed here before the airport and good thing as one meal counts as breakfast, lunch and dinner - they are that big, seriously HUGE portions. Began with mimosas which can be individual or bought as the bottle. Very good! My daughter had the French toast which was excellent, my husband bad the breakfast burrito which is massive but good and I had some vegetarian eggs Benedict ( Astrid's Florentine ) with spinach, avocado and a lovely lemon hollandaise! Each dish was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and we had a great experience! It was very well priced especially considering the potions and quality of the food! Great restaurant and would absolutely return!
